Okay so for the first time in this calendar I am legitimately excited. I have no idea wtf this beer is. It’s called Krampusnacht and it’s 9.5% and I have no idea what to expect out of it.
Kristi tried it before me and said she doesn’t like it. Dan doesn’t know how he feels about it but believes it when it claims to be 9.5%.
My first sip has me more confused than a 13 year old Dan seeing his teammates in the shower for the first time. It’s spiced and dark like a winter ale but super boozy. You can definitely tell it’s 9.5%
The name “Krampusnacht” refers to a holiday that I can get behind. It’s a holiday that feels a lot more like Halloween than Christmas. On Krampusnacht, December 5th, men dressed as Krampus drink a bunch of alcohol, run through the streets, and frighten children. Often, they chase delinquent children around and hit them with sticks.
BRB I’m gonna see if I can put together a quick Krampus costume. Krampus is a half-goat-half-demon, who during the Christmas season punishes children who misbehave.
Back to the beer. I still don’t know how I feel about it. I definitely couldn’t drink more than one. I may have a hard time standing up after this one. I’m happy I got to try something different tonight. Sad that I didn’t like it.
Luckily Pug is here to cheer everyone up from sadness.
