As we fly through day after day I’m realizing how close we are to Christmas. It feels like the season just started but here it is, only 11 days away. I need a haircut and a shave pretty bad. I also have some shopping that still needs to be done. Yet I can’t seem to bring myself to put pants on so now I’m gonna drink beer instead. Today I have Hoperation tripel cross Belgian IPA. I expect it to be hoppy.
First sip and I feel like I just got punched in the face. It’s extremely bitter. Belgian brewers are starting to brew more of their own style IPAs to export to North America. The beers are usually both hoppy but with a belgian dryness. Most of this beer gets exported because the beer drinkers in Belgium don’t care for the hoppyness.
When I poured it, I noticed it headed off more than the other beers. This is also common among Belgian style beers. This beer is not for me but I can see why many beer drinkers would be attracted to this. Here’s pug acting like a weirdo again in his favorite spot: cuddled up to Kristi.
