As I stare at this beer, I wonder the easiest and most painless way to drink it. Today I’ve drawn the Double Dragon Imperial Red Ale.
Just as expected when I saw the 8.2% on the label, this beer is strong and boozy. I’m officially going on 4 days in a row of beers that I’m not enjoying. This is a true struggle. At least it has a cool name.
Imperial red ales are credited to being created by Californian brewers. IRAs tend to have intense hop aromas and flavors with medium to high caramel malts. A beer gets it’s imperial name referring to the brew style of doubling the hops and malts creating a higher alcohol content ranging from 8-12%.
Hopefully tomorrow’s beer gets better because this week has been a struggle. Even Marvin feels my pain. Well not really, he’s just excited to have pictures taken of him.
